There were no big packages, no surprises with great big bows waiting for me in the garage. No breakfast in bed with flowers and syrup dripping from homemade waffles...
But what there was, was much the same scene that greets me almost everyday of my life.
I woke up bright and early to see my husband's face looking at me lovingly, a man who promptly made me laugh and within the first few minutes of the day told me he loved me. We talked for awhile until we decided we were hungry and he asked me what I wanted for breakfast--I had it in front of me piping hot within a few minutes. A daughter who woke a few minutes later cheerfully came in and hugged me and told me good morning.
As it's Sunday we laid our church clothes out and Dave ironed them, helped us get ready (found my church shoes for me again...). Got everyone's scriptures out and had them waiting by the door, got ready himself and had us all to church.
When we got home asked me if I wanted anything to eat or if he could help me with anything ("Do you need a shirt ironed?"), what kind of music he should turn on for us (I picked Enya and he didn't complain). He made sure we had everything we needed (Ice cold Dr. Pepper anyone?) before he sat down to relax and do anything for himself.
It might be a different day tomorrow but the feeling in our home will be the same.
For Me...
Everyday is Mother's Day.
I am eternally grateful and always will be for the love I found in him and in turn our wonderful daughter whom I adore. My family is the greatest joy and blessing in my life. We could not have more because we have each other.
Thank you David & Samantha, I love you!!!
